Home health care brings skilled nursing, therapy and medical social work services to patients in their own homes under a physician's plan of care. It is a convenient, safe alternative to extended hospital or facility stays for patients who are homebound or need clinical support at home.
Patients who are homebound and need skilled care ordered by a physician typically qualify. This includes individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic illness, healing wounds, receiving IV therapy, or needing rehabilitation after a hospital stay.
We provide skilled nursing, physical/occupational/speech therapy, and medical social work. Our nurses manage wound care, IV therapy, catheter and ostomy care, chronic disease management, medication management, and post-hospital recovery support.
Yes. In most cases, patients and families have the right to choose the home health agency they prefer. If you or a loved one is being discharged from a hospital, rehab center, or nursing facility, you can request First Aide Home Care by name. This choice is an important patient right.
Yes. We accept traditional Medicare and contracted Medicaid plans. We also work with many Medicare Advantage and commercial plans, including Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Ambetter, Superior Health Plan/Tango Care, WellMed, Humana and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
We proudly serve patients and families in Webb and Zapata Counties, including Laredo and surrounding communities, with local ownership and 24/7 on-call clinical support.
Once we receive a physician's order and verify eligibility, we can often begin the same day or next business day. Our intake team is available to coordinate a smooth transition from hospital to home.
